I must say I'm both surprised and pleased to stumble across this site, up & running again -- however feeble it might be! I recognize a couple of the names, and can guess at a few others -
@pftq - "NW_Q", by chance?
@coolguy - I assume you are CFC_Coolguy, but then you never know...
@RA - is this the same "RA" who suffered from sudden, inexplicable connection problems whenever doom was imminent? If you still need tech support for that, let me know!
For those of you who may not remember, I was quite active in 2003/2004 (first as "Ko_in_DK" and later as "HIC_Ko"), and did a bit of everything in the Norse wars world: administered the norsewars site & ladder for about 10 months, did some map modding & balancing with NW_Mike, wrote the "expert guide", and was even ladder champ for a bit -- right up until I got challenged (and stomped) by "Mythod_Alawarz"!!
If there is any serious interest in reviving/playing some classic Norsewars maps, please post here (or email me). Given the (lack of) activity here, I don't have any great hope that anything will get off the ground, but it could be fun to do some retro Norse wars for a change! (been into WoW the last couple years, but now that I'm Highwarlord, Dragonslayer, Firelord, Savior, "Insane in the Membrance" and have done 99% of all possible achievements, I need a bit of a diversion until MoP hits).
BTW, I still have my CDs, codekeys, and library of *all* the old Norsewars maps (I am pretty sure I have every variation up to and including 7.1x). So if I get 5 or more people posting here or emailing me, I will try to set up a "revival" weekend where we can play Norsewars, castleblood, mythod, etc. Would be fun!
P.S. to RA - just fucking with you bud. I am sure that you've worked out your connection issues by now ; )
